Mandate Definition
Days 1–3Before search begins, we define exactly what we are looking for — and why. This includes the role scope, reporting structure, operating context, success profile, and any barriers the search is likely to encounter (geography, compensation, confidentiality, internal dynamics).
This stage is not a formality. Organizations that skip it — or rush it — are the ones that end up with shortlists that do not fit the actual problem. We do not start outreach until the mandate is clear.
- Role scope, title, and reporting structure confirmed
- Candidate success profile defined — not just credentials, but operating context fit
- Compensation range set against current market reality
- Confidentiality parameters established if required
- Search geography determined
